Lake County man killed after crashing into disabled Mack truck parked on side of road

A Lake County man was killed after crashing into a disabled Mack truck parked on the side of the road.

The 37-year-old Clermont man was driving a 2003 Dodge Ram truck eastbound on Hammock Ridge Road east of Foxchase Drive at 9:20 a.m. Monday when he crashed into the disabled 2017 Mack box truck, according to an arrest report from the Florida Highway Patrol. The disabled truck had its hazard lights flashing and triangle markers placed on the highway.

The Clermont man attempted to change lanes and the front of his truck crashed into the rear of the disabled truck. The Clermont man was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

The driver of the disabled truck, a 49-year-old Winter Haven man, was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation.
