Newly remodeled Walmart in Leesburg will celebrate with hotdogs and fun this weekend

Leesburg residents will soon get a first look at the newly remodeled Walmart Supercenter at 2501 Citrus Blvd. as the much-anticipated project is now complete. The remodel includes several department transformations including the expansion of store navigational tools that will help customers save time.

To celebrate the newly remodeled store, Walmart will host a variety of events and giveaways on Saturday and Sunday including a kickoff ribbon cutting event at 8 a.m. Saturday, July 16 .

Representatives from Walmart will highlight some of the store improvements, recognize an associate who has been working at the store since it opened, and present two local non-profit organizations with grants. The local organizations include Early Learning Coalition of Lake County ($1,500) and Create Conservatory ($1,500).

Following the ribbon cutting, Walmart will host a free family friendly celebration from 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m featuring family games, face painting, arts & crafts, and food trucks. Highlights of the event also include:

• A Nintendo gaming tent where attendees can play Mario Kart 8 Deluxe game on the Nintendo Switch

• Oscar Meyer hotdog sampling provided by Kraft with Heinz condiments

The event is FREE for all, and customers can register at https://walmartexperiences.com/.

“Our customers will immediately notice a difference when they enter the store,” said Brian Little, Global Communications Director, Walmart. “We have added and expanded options to ensure the shopping experience is convenient and efficient for our customers including more parking for Our Grocery Pick Up customers, more self-checkout lanes inside the store, and easy Grab N Go coolers,” he continued.
