Walsteen “Skip” Joseph Sweat, 88, of Tavares, FL, passed away on June 28, 2022. He was born in Leesburg, FL, on November 13, 1933, to his parents: Joe Brown and Maye Nancy (Crenshaw) Sweat. Skip was a ceramic tile contractor in the construction business and served in the National Guard.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years: Gail Sweat; children: Joseph Reed Sweat, Gary Alan Sweat, Edward (Cheryl) Ryan Sweat and Cheryl “Cheri” (Elbert) Sweat; 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Siblings: Larry (Diane) Sweat, Theresa (Lester) Berry and Danny Sweat. He was preceded in death by his brother: Arthur Sweat.
A Celebration of Life will be held on July 9, 2022, at 2:00PM with a gathering of friends and family from 1:00PM-2:00PM at Steverson Hamlin and Hilbish Funeral Home in Tavares, FL.
