Donald Edward McCafferty

Donald Edward McCafferty was born in Troy, New York on April 16, 1933. His parents were John McCafferty and Elizabeth (Horlacher), since deceased. He graduated from Troy High School in 1951 and married Elizabeth Kositzka and they were married over 60 years. Together they traveled the country in their motorhomes which took them to all 48 states as well as a flight to Hawaii and a cruise to Alaska in their lifetime. In addition to their R-Ving, he enjoyed the camping lifestyle spending nearly 40 years at the same campground in the Adirondacks. Don also enjoyed tailgating at Penn State, Army, and Patriots football games with friends for many years and was an avid Yankees fan. He worked for the New York State Division for Youth for over 30 years. He was a member of St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Community, Eustis, Florida, the Eustis Elks Club, and the Twin Lakes HomeOwners Association. He is survived by nieces, Carol Thompson (Robert), Lori, Kathy and Dawn of Clifton Park, New York. Mass of Christian burial will be at St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church, Eustis, Florida on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at 9:00 AM. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont, New York. Memorial donations can be to the Humane Society of Lake County, 16435 McKinley Rd, Umatilla, FL 32784. Arrangements by Harden/Pauli Funeral Home, Eustis.
