of Leesburg, Florida passed away at the age of 94 on June 17, 2022. Janie was born in Lynn, Florida on October 14, 1927 to Lucian and Sally Jane Manning. She was very proud of being a fourth generation Floridian. Janie attended Weirsdale High School and the local community college to complete banking courses. She married James D. Richardson in 1945 during World War II and spent a good bit of their early married life waiting for him to come home from Japan. Later in life she married Crawford Coy who was also a World War II veteran.

Janie worked over 30 years at First National Bank of Leesburg as a bookkeeper and later transitioned to safety deposit boxes when the bank became Sun Trust. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Leesburg for over fifty years and a member of the Faithful Ruth Class. She also achieved a life-time membership of over 50 years in the Eastern Star. Janie loved to cook and have her family all around her, especially on birthdays and holidays. One of her greatest joys was the time she spent watching her grandson grow into a young man.

Janie is survived by her daughter, Jeannette Richardson Tietjen (Reggie); son, David Carter Richardson (Mel); and grandson, James David Richardson (Mollie).

Janie will be deeply missed by her friends and family.

A graveside service will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Leesburg, Florida on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at 2:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, a contribution may be made in Janie’s name to the Christian Care Center at the First Baptist Church of Leesburg, 220 N. 13th St. Leesburg, Florida 34748.
