Mary Alice Herschel, 88 of Leesburg, FL went to be with the Lord on June 9, 2022. Mary was born in Orange, New Jersey to her beloved parents; Douglas and Alice Cuddy.

Mary was of the Catholic faith, and a very active supporter of the JFK Election Committee, which is where she met her loving husband, James. They were married for 60 years and in that time, they traveled the world together; having been to 6 of 7 continents 95 countries and 49 of the United States.

Mary was a very active member of her community in New Jersey while her children; Michael, Peter, Jamie, and Chris, were growing up and even coached one of her son’s baseball teams. Mary returned to work after her husband was laid up due to a softball injury and worked in the insurance industry as a Licensed Insurance Agent for 25 years. In retirement, she volunteered at the Royal Highlands Library. She also enjoyed created amazing pieces of art in needlecraft. Mary was an extremely loving and devout wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Mary is survived by her loving husband, James; Three sons: Peter Herschel of Palm Coast FL, Jamie Herschel and his wife Lynette of New Philadelphia, OH, and Chris Herschel of Hampton, New Jersey; Eight Grandchildren: Bryan, Jessica, Kyle, Gabriel, Kristin, Meredith, Noah, and Lily; Two Great-Grandchildren: Xandra and Oliver.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Doug, and her son, Michael.

A visitation will be held at the Page -Theus Funeral Home in Leesburg Florida, on Wednesday, June 15th from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, June 16th at 11:00am at the Page -Theus Funeral Home Chapel, Leesburg, Florida.
