A Leesburg woman was arrested after allegedly pulling a wig off her sister’s head during a family argument over household bills.

Leesburg police were dispatched Tuesday to a residence located in the 1600 block of Sheffield Road. When they arrived at the residence they made contact with the victim who told them that her sister, 34-year-old Crystal Bain and their grandmother had been discussing household expenses. As they began to argue, the sister turned to leave the room. Bain grabbed the wig off her head and grabbed her right arm, leaving a three-inch scratch.

When the police questioned the grandmother, she also said Bain had grabbed her sister’s wig from her head and inflicted the scratch marks.

When the police tried to interview Bain, she went into her bedroom. The officer stood at Bain’s bedroom door and asked Bain what happened. Bain told the officer that whatever the vicim stated was “the truth,” according to the police report.

When the officer went to arrest the Michigan native, she resisted being handcuffed and hit the officer’s left hand with her closed right fist.

Bain was booked at the Lake County Jail on charges of domestic battery and resisting arrest with violence. Bond was set at $6,000 which was posted the next day.
