Habitat for Humanity of Lake-Sumter is accepting applications for four new homes to be built through Habitat’s Youth Construction Academy program. The homes will be in Wildwood, Leesburg, Mascotte, and Eustis.

Under the Youth Construction Academy program, students from The Villages Charter, Leesburg, South Lake and Eustis high schools gain valuable hands-on construction experience while helping provide home ownership opportunities to local families through Habitat’s Home Ownership program.
The selected families will partner with Habitat to pay an affordable mortgage and provide “sweat equity” that shows they are invested in the outcome of their new home. Sweat Equity is earned through activities such as volunteering on a Habitat worksite or in the ReStores, and through educational courses such as a first-time homebuyer, financial literacy, or credit counseling.
