It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our mother, Evelyn Roberta Mizell on May 19, 2022. Roberta was born in Dade City, Florida on August 29, 1937. She grew up in Coleman, Florida, and graduated from Wildwood high school, class of 1955.

Roberta married John H. Meier, IV in June 1956 and they raised two children: John H. Meier, V (Denise) and Mary Beth Locke (Dennis). She and her husband owned Don’s Skateland in Leesburg. She later moved to North Woods Beach, Wisconsin and owned Drifter’s Corral Bar and Grill for 15 years before returning to Florida and becoming a substitute teacher for the Sumter County school system.

She is predeceased by her parents, William (Billy) Preston Mizell (1978) and Dorothy Marie (Marsh) Mizell (2008), brother, Preston Holmes Mizell (1976). She is survived by two children, sister, Billie Marie Winkles, brother, William Chester Mizell as well as 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
