Tyris DeWayne Thornton passed away May 6, 2022. He was born on March 30, 1972, in Memphis, Tennessee, to Mary W. Thornton and Odell Holmes. He was a hard worker and loved his family and friends. Tyris was an amazing father, husband, brother, uncle, son, and grandfather.
Preceding him in death was his grandfather, Willie B. Thornton; grandmother, Willie Mae Thornton; sister, Latoya Renee Holmes; and daughter, Ella’Nesa.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his devoted wife of eleven years, Geri; his mother, Mary W. Thornton; grandmother, Mary L. Thornton; daughter, Marquala Dixon; sons, Tyris, Jr., and Joshua Thornton, both of New Port Richey, Florida, Demarius Thornton, and Deric Dixon; sisters, Denise and April Holmes, both of Sacramento, California, Yvonne Benoit of Leesburg, Florida, and Karonda Holmes of Atlanta, Georgia; grandchildren, Zayden Miller, Ace Dixon, and Ella Thornton; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
