Betty M. Fydrychowski

Betty M. Fydrychowski (Friday), 95, formerly of Nanticoke, PA. passed peacefully on May 2, 2022, at North Campus Rehab- Nursing Center in Leesburg, FL. Born September 8, 1926 in Nanticoke, PA. she was the daughter of the late Lester Hazelton and Laura Meikrantz Hazelton.

She graduated from Nanticoke High School and afterwards started a long career working in a sewing factory. Her love for sewing continued throughout her life. She used those skills to make many crafts, which she enjoyed making and selling at local fairs. She was a very active woman and participated in many agencies for more than 50 years. Among them are: International Ladies Garment Workers Union and their Chorus, Greater Wilkes Barre Labor Council, Nanticoke Democratic Party, Nanticoke Progressive Women’s Club, Girl Scout Council, Nanticoke Hazelton Mental Health and the Luzerne County United Way.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Fydrychowski, sisters, Evelyn Rittenhouse and Lois Davenport, brother Robert Hazelton, and son-in-law, David W. Cragle. Betty was the last remaining member of her immediate family.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Diane J. Cragle, granddaughter Jennifer L. Cragle Falber and her husband, Ryan Falber, several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews and Dory the dog.

She was a joy to know and will be greatly missed by everyone. We all have a multitude of wonderful memories of and with her to last a lifetime. In closing, we, the family, would all agree that her FAVORITES FOOD GROUP was ICE CREAM. Blessings to all.
