A suspected thief’s return trip to the Walmart store in Leesburg resulted in her arrest.

Leesburg police officers were alerted last week by a Walmart loss prevention employee that a woman, 32-year-old Brooke Noelle Baisden was in the store and was stealing items. Video surveillance tapes showed Baisden switching price tags from items before going through a self checkout aisle and then leaving the store without paying the correct price for the items. She was arrested as she exited the store. Total value of the items Baisden took equaled $198.11.

The loss prevention employee told the arresting officer that he had evidence that Baisden had committed a theft on Feb. 27. An examination of the store’s surveillance video showed Baisden stealing items valued at $86.46. In that instance, she outran Walmart employees when they attempted to stop her and was not caught until she returned to the scene of the crime on Monday.

Baisden has had numerous criminal arrests in Lake County for theft and drug offenses.

She was arrested on two counts of retail theft and booked at the Lake County Jail where bond was set at $2,000.
