Lake County woman injured in three-vehicle crash which claims life of motorcyclist

A Lake County woman was injured in a three-vehicle crash which claimed the life of a motorcyclist.

The 59-year-old Tavares woman was driving an eastbound car that was stopped at 8:45 p.m. Saturday on Jones Avenue at Orange Blossom Trail in Orange County when a car driven by a 19-year-old Apopka woman turned into the path of a 51-year-old motorcyclist from Apopka, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

After colliding with the motorcyclist, the 19-year-old woman’s car struck the left side of the Tavares woman’s vehicle.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The report noted he had been wearing a helmet.

The teen and the Tavares woman both suffered minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
