Nell M. Thomas, 93, of Leesburg, Florida died Wednesday, December 29, 2021. She was born in Miami, Florida and retired from The State of Florida Department of Corrections.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Oxley; grandson, Shane Campbell, his wife Melissa Campbell, 4 great-grandsons, Riley, Brandon, Collin and Cooper; granddaughter, Kristi Oxley, her step daughter Betsy Ashley and grandson, Logan Ashley, great grandsons Harrison, Grant Ashely, granddaughter Caitlyn Ashley; niece, Amy Lawson and two Great Nieces Kaitlyn and Mia. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Thomas; her two sons, Michael Eckenrode, Terry Eckenrode; her sister Marjie Frederick; and brother Walter Terry Garrett.
A visitation will be held Friday, January 7, 2022, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM with services beginning at 10:00 AM at Beyers Funeral Home in Lady Lake, Florida. Interment to follow at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
