Cocaine, $10,000 in cash and weapons were seized during a raid Wednesday in Leesburg.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit with the assistance of other local law enforcement officers armed with a search warrant went to the home of 36-year-old Brian Lockhart located at Apt. 1 at 1021 Birchwood Court.
The investigation was prompted by several complaints and intelligence reports that Lockhart was involved in the illegal sale of narcotics. During the raid he was found to be in possession of 13 ounces of cocaine packaged for sale worth approximately $20,000 as well as 100 grams of marijuana.
Lockhart is a convicted felon and a total of five firearms were located in the home. One firearm had been reported stolen to the Eustis Police Department. A second firearm was reportedly stolen out of Marion County. Detectives also seized more than $10,000 in cash. Lockhart was charged with armed trafficking of cocaine, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute within 1000 feet of a park, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of ammo by a convicted felon, and drug paraphernalia.
Lockhart was booked at the Lake County Jail on $126,000 bond.
