Lake County couple seriously injured in crash that claims life of Deland woman

A Lake County couple has been seriously injured in a crash that claimed the life of a Deland woman.

A 64-year-old Eustis man had been at the wheel of a 2011 Dodge pickup at 12:10 p.m. in Volusia County when a 76-year-old Deland woman driving a 2010 Ford pickup crossed the double yellow lines and collided head-on with his truck, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

The Deland woman was transported to a hospital in Deland where she later died. The Eustis man and his 64-year-old female passenger, also from Eustis, were both seriously injured and transported to Central Florida Regional Hospital.

The crash remains under investigation.
