Leesburg facilities to close for Veterans Day and Bikefest

All City of Leesburg offices will close on Thursday, Nov. 11 in observance of the Veterans Day holiday. Several downtown facilities will also close on Friday, Nov. 12 and through the weekend due to activities associated with the 2021 Leesburg Bikefest.

Scheduled closings are as follows:

  • All city departments are closed Nov. 11
  • Leesburg City Hall, 501 W. Meadow Street, including Customer Service, City Clerk’s Office, Finance, Human Resources and the City Manager’s Office is closed Nov. 11-12.
  • Municipal Services Center at 204 N. 5th Street, which includes the Building Department, Planning and Zoning, Purchasing, IT and GIS Departments is closed Nov. 11-12.
  • Leesburg Public Library, 100 E. Main Street, will close at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10 and remain closed throughout the weekend. The book drop will also be closed during this time. The library will grant an extension for all materials due back during the weekend of Bikefest. The adjusted due date for those materials will be Monday, Nov. 15.

There will be no garbage, yard waste, or recycling collection on Thursday, Nov. 11. As a result, residential and hand commercial solid waste regularly scheduled for pick up on Thursday will be picked up on Monday, Nov.  15. Recyclables will be collected on the next regularly scheduled recycling pick up day. There will be no change for dumpster service. Normal collection schedules will be followed on Friday, Nov. 12.
