Robert C. “Bob” Gleckler

Robert C. “Bob” Gleckler, 72, Leesburg, FL, passed away on October 13, 2021 at his residence. He was born on November 27, 1948, in Columbus, OH, to his parents Alex Gleckler and June (Hoyt) Gleckler.

Bob served for several years in the United States Army Reserve. He spent most of his career in the mortgage lending services and the auto parts industry. He and his beloved wife Lois moved to Leesburg in 1999 from East Hartford, CT. Bob was of the Lutheran faith and a member of the Masonic order in Connecticut.

Bob never met a stranger. He had a wonderful sense of humor and a deep love for history and music. He played the drums in the rock and roll band he formed with his brothers in high school as well as playing with a number of other rock and blues bands throughout his life.

He is survived by his loving family: Three brothers: William Gleckler and his wife Donna of Girdletree, MD; James Gleckler and his wife Joan of Sugar Hill, GA; and Thomas Gleckler of Enfield, CT; a sister: Gayle Gleckler and her husband Tony Woolner of N. Salem, NY; three nephews: Ehren Gleckler and his wife Kathy of Lawrenceville, GA; Zac Weiner and his wife Courtney of Milford, CT; and Nick Gleckler of Watertown, CT; a niece: Alexandria (Bailey) Gleckler Tischofer and her husband Jeremiah of Coventry, CT; and a grand-nephew: Dylan Gleckler of Lawrenceville, GA.

Bob also leaves behind his good friends Jeanette Marcello and Ron Ballard, both of Leesburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Lois.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at a later date in Georgia.
