A Leesburg landlord was arrested after allegedly entering a tenant’s mobile home without permission and destroying the woman’s laptop.

The tenant told Lake County sheriff’s deputies that on Sept. 25, her landlady, 73-year-old Sylvia Jean Sprague, came to her residence at about 7:30 p.m. and went into her mobile home without her permission. The tenant had been on her phone in the front yard when Sprague walked into the dwelling. She then came out of the mobile home with a basket containing some of the tenant’s possessions including her laptop computer. When Sprague threw down the basket, the tenant yelled at her that her laptop was in the basket, according to the arrest report. The tenant said Sprague took the laptop out of the basket and repeatedly smashed it on the ground.

An arrest warrant was obtained and Sprague was taken into custody on Thursday on charges of burglary and criminal mischief. She was booked at the Lake County Jail and released after posting $1,500 bond.
