A critically injured driver was airlifted after a crash Saturday morning on the Florida Turnpike near Leesburg.
The 28-year-old Box Springs, Ga. man had been “swerving in and out of traffic and traveling over the posted speed limit” just before the accident occurred at 9 a.m. Saturday at Mile Marker 284, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol.
His vehicle struck the rear end of a tractor trailer truck driven by a 44-year-old Louisville, Ky. man.
The Georgia man’s car overturned “multiple times,” the report said. The report indicated it was not known if he had been wearing a seat belt. He was flown to Orlando Health.
The Kentucky trucker was not injured.
