William D. “Bill” Reed, 81, Leesburg, Florida went to be with the Lord on September 23, 2021 at his residence under the loving care of his family and staff of Cornerstone Hospice. Bill was born on June 6, 1940 in Salem, Ohio to his parents Ralph Reed and Helen (Sprowl) Reed.
He was a former Firefighter/ Paramedic for the city of Leesburg and retired in 1995. He and his beloved wife Jeanne moved to Leesburg in 1965 from Salem, Ohio. Bill was a proud veteran of the United States Navy and served during the Vietnam era. He was a member of Leesburg Missionary Baptist Church of Leesburg, Florida.
Bill is survived by his son: Donnie Reed of Leesburg, FL; two daughters: Andi Purvis and her husband Al of Tavares, FL and Dani Davidson of Eustace, TX; a sister: Judy Reed of Leesburg, FL; five grandchildren: Samantha, Kimberly, Leslie, Michael and Lauren; thirteen great-grandchildren and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his infant son David and his beloved wife Jeanne.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. at Leesburg Missionary Baptist Church with visitation to be held prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. till the hour of service. The burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Leesburg.
