Joseph F. Douthett, age 97, passed peacefully away in Leesburg, Florida, on September 10th, 2021.
He was born January 03, 1924, to Joseph F Douthett and Dollie Gaston Douthett in Punxsutawney, PA and moved to Butler, PA at 5 years of age. He served during WW2 in the US Army both in France and Germany. After he and Virginia married, they moved to Hammond, Indiana where Joe was employed by US Steel in East Chicago, Indiana. They retired to Leesburg and attended Morrison Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his wife Virginia, daughter Joanne Thurrow, sister Margaret Struck, brothers Charles and Merle Douthett. He is survived by his son Kevin Douthett of Leesburg and brother Harry Douthett of Bradenton, FL.
Joe wished that his remains be donated to science, so no visitation or funeral will be held at this time. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
