Lake County Commission to host public hearing regarding budget

The Lake County Board of County Commissioners is inviting the public to attend the Fiscal Year 2022 public budget hearing on Sept. 28. The hearing to set the millage and adopt the budget will take place at 5:05 p.m. in the Board Chambers of the County Administration Building, located at 315 W. Main St., Tavares.

In August, the Lake County Property Appraiser’s Office mailed TRIM, or Truth in Millage notices, which contain information about property taxes. TRIM notices list the taxable value of each property and provide information on the proposed maximum millage rates and taxes as estimated by each Lake County taxing authority, which includes the County Commission, School Board, municipalities and others. The Property Appraiser’s Office also posts TRIM notices for all properties in Lake County online at www.lakecopropappr.com.

The fiscal year of Lake County’s annual budget is Oct. 1 through Sept. 30.
