Teen facing felony charge after girl fight at Skate World

An argument between two teenage girls Saturday night escalated into a fight which resulted in one girl being arrested and the other being taken by ambulance to Leesburg Regional Medical Center.

The argument began shortly after 8 p.m. at Skate World on Palmetto Street in Leesburg. A 15-year-old girl accused another girl of following her around school and with “messing” with her relationship with her boyfriend.

When the other girl replied, “No bitch,” the 15-year-old girl shoved the other girl to the ground, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department. As she fell, the victim put her hand out to break the fall and suffered a painful injury to her arm.

A Leesburg police officer who was working security for Skate World detained the 15-year-old and called for an ambulance to take the injured girl to the hospital. The detained girl told the officer what she did and why she had done it. The owner of the skate park also provided surveillance video which showed the altercation.
