Convicted felon arrested with stolen gun in Leesburg

A convicted felon with a stolen gun was arrested Thursday by Leesburg police.

Michael Joshua Solomon, 25, of Leesburg, was found to be in possession of a gun, which had been reported stolen in Mount Dora, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department. Solomon was also in possession of 10.5 grams of marijuana.

A records check revealed that Solomon had been convicted in 2015 on a felony charge of possession of cocaine.

He was taken into custody on charges of possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana. He was booked at the Lake County Jail and released after posting $26,000 bond.
