A 72-year-old doctor at a treatment facility was attacked by a patient craving drugs.

Leesburg police officers responded Monday morning to Lifestream Behavioral Center, a mental health and drug treatment center located at 2020 Talley Road, where the doctor said he had been attacked by 31-year-old Michael Paul Borski of Inverness, who demanded Xanax and Klonopin, according to an arrest report.

When the doctor declined to write a prescription for the drugs, Borski began to shout at the doctor and knocked several items off his desk. As the doctor bent over to pick up the items, the West Palm Beach native hit him on the right side of his face with a closed fist several times, the report said. The altercation spilled out into the hallway.

Staffers responded to the commotion and separated the two men. Borski was placed back in his room until law enforcement arrived. As Borski was escorted from the facility, he shouted more threats at the doctor.

Borski was arrested on a third-degree felony charge of battery and booked at the Lake County Jail. Bond was set at $5,000.
