The 35th annual Miss Leesburg scholarship pageant will be held Sept. 25. The pageant is now accepting applications with a Sept. 18 deadline.
The Miss Leesburg contest began in 1986 and became the Miss Leesburg Scholarship Program in 1997. Since then the program has awarded $174,000 in scholarships. The winner receives a $3,000 scholarship to the college of her choice while the first runner-up receives a $1,000 scholarship. The younger age group winners receive $100 in cash. Girls age 4 to 19 can enter the contest.
Girls who reside in Leesburg, Yalaha, Lady Lake and Fruitland Park are eligible. Applications are available online at missleesburg.com.
