Barbara Jean Morphet, 89, of Leesburg passed away on Friday, July 23 surrounded by her loving family.
Barbara was born on March 29, 1932 in Miami Florida to Carl and Edna (Thompson) Freedlund. She attended local schools and enjoyed a career as a receptionist in the medical field. Barbara’s greatest joys were simple and varied. She adored television game shows and her favorites included Jeopardy, Family Feud and Wheel of Fortune. She loved keeping up-to-date with family and friends via Facebook on her iPad. She also enjoyed card games with Canasta and Pinochle being her favorites. No chocolate bar or candy assortment lasted long once Barbara discovered it. But most of all, she loved time with family.
Barbara is survived by sons Fred and James (Rhonda) Morphet. She also leaves grandchildren Jason (Ayleen), Jennifer (Jason), Kastin (Trey), Rhonda (Crystal), David (Elke), Dan (Susan), Kelley (Jozef), Wendy (Jeffrey), great-grandchildren Lillian, Ellis, Reagan, Kevin, Jason, Austin, Logan, Garrett and Hailey and great-great-grandson Jonathan. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Murray and son Donald (Marjorie).
A Celebration of Barbara’s Life will be held on Friday, July 30 at 2:00 PM at the Beyers Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. The funeral home is located at 1123 West Main St. in Leesburg.
