A Leesburg man was arrested on a drunk driving charge and refused to submit to a breath test.
John R. Wilson, 30, was driving a green Chevrolet SUV shortly before 10 p.m. Sunday in Tavares when a police officer took note of his erratic driving. Wilson had “bloodshot eyes and slurred speech,” according to an arrest report from the Tavares Police Department.
The officer had also noticed “small plastic sandwich style bag” fly out the passenger side window of the vehicle. The bag was retrieved and contained 3 grams of high THC cannabis.
Wilson refused to provide a breath sample.
He was arrested on charges of driving under the influence, possession of cannabis and tampering with evidence.
He was booked at the Lake County Jail on $3,000 bond.
