Lois Benton Novinger, 91, was born February 22, 1930 in Tabor City, North Carolina and entered into the arms of her loving Savior, Jesus Christ on July 3, 2021 in Lecanto, Florida.

Lois is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Hubert Novinger; three sons and one daughter, LeGran (Rhonda) Hewitt, Alachua, FL; Lynette (Ken) Colley, Ocala, FL; Ted (Carrie) Novinger, Anthony, FL; Troy (Tina) Novinger, Anthony, FL; 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers and sisters and two daughters, Teresa Novinger (1997) and Carole Enscoe Tobul (2008).

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 17, 2021 at First Baptist Church, 700 N Citrus Ave, Crystal River, FL 34428.

Lois was a brave and resourceful woman with a strong work ethic. She planned her work and worked her plan! She had a gorgeous smile, a quick wit and loved to laugh which made her crystal blue eyes sparkle! She obtained a cosmetologist license and used it for a second income in her children’s growing up years and later for her family and friends. Lois was an accomplished seamstress, sewing much of her family’s clothing, including wedding dresses for her daughters. She made custom draperies with decorative window treatments, turning that sewing talent into a livelihood to support her family. She became a quilter extraordinaire creating masterpieces from scraps. She loved working with the Sewing Seeds Quilting Ministry at First Baptist Church Crystal River and helped guide the group to making hundreds of quilts for church members experiencing illness. Each quilt was carefully designed, each recipient was lovingly prayed over and the ministry has been a blessing to many. Lois loved her church family. Lois supported her husband’s work, assisting in the designing of floor plans, secretarial skills and decorating, another example of her creativity.

Lois was a loving wife, mother, sister Nonnie, aunt and friend. She will be remembered by family and friends for the work of her hands and the many other ways she demonstrated her love.
