Driver who neglected to click seatbelt arrested after traffic stop

A Leesburg man who neglected to click his seatbelt was arrested on drug charges after a traffic stop.

Avery James Ratliff, 24, who lives at 34314 Laralack Ave., was driving a gold Chevy Silverado at 5:40 p.m. Sunday on U.S. Hwy. 441 when he was pulled over for the seatbelt violation, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

Ratliff consented to a search of his vehicle. The search turned up three containers of THC wax, a marijuana grinder, a vape pen containing THC oil and a plastic bag containing marijuana.

He was arrested on charges of possession of cannabis concentrate and possession of marijuana. He was given a verbal warning for the seatbelt violation. He was booked at the Lake County Jail and released after posting $3,000 bond.
