Diane Shaw Freiwald, 87, of Leesburg, Fl passed away peacefully Saturday, June 12, 2021 at Cornerstone Hospice Care Center at Health Central, Ocoee, Florida.
Born in Bellmore, Long Island, New York to the late Alexander H. Shaw, Jr. and Barbara de La Vergne Shaw, September 21, 1933, Diane lived most of her life in the northeast part of New Jersey. She retired to Florida in 2002.
Diane was a woman of faith and a member of Berean Baptist Church, Okahumpka FL.
Among her many passions throughout life (good meals with friends, spontaneous road trips near and far, shopping, caring for family and friends, adventure like hot air ballooning) was a career working as Administrative Assistant in property management, development and hospitality. She was especially fond of her 14-year tenure in clerical support and reservations at Mission Inn Resort and Club until the time of her passing.
Diane was predeceased by her parents, her brother, Robert A. Shaw and his wife, Sarita O. Shaw, of Morehead City, North Carolina.
Diane is survived by loving nieces Catherine (Dale) Watkiss, Jacksonville, Florida and Elizabeth (Steve) Duff, Morehead City, North Carolina, special cousins, dear friends and caring neighbors.
Diane lived her life with purpose and will be remembered for her independent and friendly nature, quick wit and great sense of humor. She will be missed by all who knew her.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service with reception is planned for September and will be announced at a later date.
