A Lake County man was killed when a tree fell on his pickup truck while he was driving on State Road 40.
The 57-year-old Astor man was traveling at 6:15 p.m. Friday westbound on State Road 40 when the large tree fell on his truck and crushed it, according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The FHP report noted that the tree was completely rotted.
