More than 3,500 new COVID-19 cases were reported Monday across Florida, including 57 in Lake County.
All told Lake County is reporting 28,949 cases. There have been 623 deaths and 1,500 people have been hospitalized. Through Sunday night, 159,883 people had been vaccinated, with 117,407 receiving the complete series.
Leesburg is now reporting 4,344 cases – an overnight increase of seven. Others have been identified in Clermont (7,744), Eustis (2,529), Mount Dora (2,123), Tavares (2,011), Groveland (1,990), Lady Lake (1,689), Minneola (884), Sorrento (828), Fruitland Park (821), Umatilla (744), Mascotte (584), Grand Island (363), Montverde (351), Astatula (222), Howey-in-the-Hills (211), Altoona (202), The Villages (183), Paisley (161), Astor (109), Yalaha (81), Okahumpka (57), Mount Plymouth (13) and Ferndale (9).

- Cases: 9,208 – increase of 3

- Vaccinations: 82,771 (69,119 both doses)
- Areas/cities with most cases: The Villages (4,233), Wildwood (1,073), Bushnell (1,015), Coleman (851) and Oxford (534).
MARION COUNTY
- Cases: 30,479 – increase of 41
- Deaths: 948
- Hospitalizations: 2,102
- Vaccinations: 129,566 (95,014 both doses)
- Cities with most cases: Ocala (22,277), Summerfield (1,899), Dunnellon (1,405), Belleview (1,350) and Silver Springs (669).
