Janet Moyer, 86, of Leesburg, FL, formerly of Franklin, PA, passed away on Monday, March 15, 2021 after an extended illness, with her family at her side.
Born on Oct. 22, 1934 in Clintonville she was the daughter of the late Park M. Sr. and Vivian McKean Matthews. She graduated from Rocky Grove High School in 1952 where she met the love of her life, Jay Moyer. They were married in 1955 and recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. Janet was retired from Lockheed Martin in Orlando, Florida. She was an active member of the Montverde United Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing cards in her card club, watching the Steelers and traveling the country with Jay in their RV.
Mrs. Moyer is survived by her husband Jay of Leesburg, FL, her sister Melanie McGinnis and her husband Dennis of Franklin, PA. She is also survived by sons Dennis and wife Penny of Trafford, PA, Dan and his fiancée Chris Rider of Clermont, FL and daughter Dianna. Janet was blessed with a granddaughter whom she loved dearly, Shelby of Clermont, FL. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters Patricia Campbell, Nancy Sutton and her husband Delbert and brother Park Matthews Jr. and his wife Doris.
