James Larry Floyd, Sr., 78, of Leesburg, passed away Thursday, August 20, 2020.
Born in Apopka, Florida, he moved to Leesburg in 1977 from Shepherdsville, Kentucky. He was a gas and electric lineman and was a member of the Whitney Baptist Church, Leesburg. James was a retired Lake County School bus driver, and a truck driver for several companies including Tool World of Eustis, a volunteer for Citizens On Patrol for Marion County and a proud member of the WQBQ 1410 AM Radio Station of Leesburg, FL.
He was predeceased by his Sister, Mary Pruitt. James is survived by his loving Wife of 56 years, Ruby C. Floyd of Leesburg, FL; Son, James (Patty) Floyd, Jr. of Leesburg, FL, Son, Daniel (Renee) Floyd, of Wildwood, FL; Brother, Jerry Floyd of Apopka, FL, Brother, Roger Floyd of Mount Dora, FL; Sister, Joyce Allen of Bradenton, FL, 7 Grandchildren and 7 Great-Grandchildren.
Services will be held at Whitney Baptist Church, Leesburg, FL, on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a memorial fund for Ruby C. Floyd at 32630 North Whitney Road, Leesburg, FL 34748.
