Terry Lee Stephenson

Terry Stephenson

Terry Lee Stephenson passed unexpectedly on August 5, 2020 on his property doing what he loved.

Terry was born on January 4, 1944 in Salem, IN to his parents Lowell and Dorothy Stephenson. He graduated from Leesburg High School in 1962. Terry married his high school sweetheart, Judy Judson, on April 16, 1966.

Terry proudly Built Northside Christian Church, alongside of his closest friends. He encouraged many by distributing his handmade crosses, as well as candy at Sunday services. Terry served as captain of the Fruitland Park Fire Department. He worked at Baird Mobile Homes, later founding his own mobile home installation company. Terry also started a river rock company, called Luster Stone. He went on to work for Romac Lumber before joining The Villages as a builder. Terry worked part-time for Bailey Industries in his retirement, in addition to helping his best friend Dean Humphrey maintain his property.

Terry was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed any outdoor activity, including scalloping and turkey hunting in Florida, as well as deer and mushroom hunting in Indiana. He was known as the “Candy Man” at church and loved spending time with his family. Terry was well known for his homemade beef jerky and hunting stories. His story could go on and on, as he had an impact on everyone he met. He is our hero and we will never let his memory fade.

Terry is preceded in death by his father, Lowell Stephenson. He is survived by his wife Judy; his mother, Dorothy; his brother, Larry (Carol); his sister, Thelma (Henry); his children, Charles (Darren), Robert, Amber (Bill); his grandchildren, Taylor, Riley, Jaylen, Gage, Lake; his great grandchildren (and best buddies), Elijah, Brynnleigh.
